Your internship abroad starts at The Go-Abroad Fair
An internship is the best way to really get to know the field in which you will later work. For a period of time, you gain practical experience that helps you during the rest of your studies, but also makes you realise whether the profession you are studying suits you. An internship abroad is also definitely an option and ensures that you gain new insights on a personal level in addition to making professional strides. At The Go-Abroad Fair, intermediary organisations will be present to help you find an internship at your dream destination. It is the fair to discover the possibilities.

Michelle was encouraged during her education (mbo nursing at Da Vinci College in Dordrecht) to seek an internship abroad and immediately became enthusiastic. After a successful first internship in Spain, she decided to arrange another one right away, in Tanzania. Her experiences there made a deep impression: "I will never forget this internship."
Nursing education is very different across borders than in the Netherlands, which is why programmes often emphasise internships abroad. Michelle also experienced a clear difference: "In Spain it was a matter of 'doing', while in the Netherlands it is often 'watching'." And her Spanish time was already unforgettable, but in Tanzania a whole world opened up for her: "It's very primitive there. Things we consider basic needs in the Netherlands are just not there. It's so bizarre what you see."
That her internship gave Michelle a lot is clear to her. She therefore definitely recommends an internship abroad. Some tips from her: start saving, start planning in time (which country, which study and what are the financial consequences) and last but not least: definitely contact students with experience abroad for more information. That way, you will know everything you need to know before you make the move!
